MEDICAL PAYMENTS

Sir, —I was astounded to read a letter bv “ Taxpayer,” in which he suggests that it may be possible for doctors operating under the capitation scheme of the original social security legislation to receive payment from the Government for members on their panel who are absent from New Zealand, and in some cases have been absent for more than three years. I cannot believe that such is the case, and await with confidence Dr McMillan’s replv to “ Taxpayer," whose innuendo appears to cast a slur on those rseponsible for the legislation, and on the doctors who are operating under the scheme.—l am, etc., For the People. Dunedin. November 17.
