WOMEN’S RIGHT TO HOUSEHOLD SAVINGS

Sir—The letters which are appearing on “ Household Savings ” are surely on a paltry topic in these days of anxiety to so many. I presume that the women writers 'must be lucky enough to have their husbands at home still. I, personally do not believe in separate savings between husband and wife. Everything there is should be shared, and if anything is over, saved in the husband’s name. lam afraid I cannot agree with “ Socialist’s ” idea of running up bills, unless both parties are in agreement to it. Otherwise, how could there be any happiness in a home? Surely a happy home is much more important than bickering over money. Why do not some of the ones who want to save try putting the money with their husband’s? Ido not think many of them would refuse their wives anything within reason.—lam, etc., A Soldier’s Wife.
