Warmer Weather.—Warmer weather has been experienced during the past week, but hard frosts are still being recorded. A good coating of snow remains on the mountains. Lady Galway Guild.—At a recent meeting of the Wanaka branch of the Lady Galway Guild it was decided to pack the Christmas parcels for soldiers, approximately 35 in number, on Friday, September 17. Donations of biscuits, but not of cakes, will be acceptable. Suitable tins for packing, such as 71b syrup or honey tins, are also required, and helpers will be welcome.
