TAIERI COMPETITIONS FESTIVAL
The second committee meeting of the Taieri Competitions Festival, held at Mosglel, was presided over by the Rev. S. A. Grave. The following consented to act as judges:—Miss E. Lungley (elocution and drama sections), Mr G. E. Wilkinson (instrumental and vocal music sections), Miss Lily Stevens (stage dancing section). The judge for the national dancing section has not yet been appointed. . , .. Two new classes were inserted in the schedule —Vocal Solo, under 16, with accompanist also under 16: and Character Sketch, 12 to 16. A large number of donations were accepted with thanks. The Wilson Memorial Cup for most points in national dancing will be competed for this year, as will Messrs Charles Beeg and Co.’s challenge shield for choirs the committees shield for junior choirs, and the Mosgiel Woollen Company’s Shield for plays. ,
