MORNINGTON SCHOOL

PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION Mr G. D. Hay presided at the annual meeting of the Mornington School Parents’ Association. Moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, he outlined the good work done for the children. One of the major objects for which the association had been formed, he said, was the establishment of a .dental clinic. This had been accomplished, and it was impossible to estimate the benefit accruing to the children. Mr Hay said that since 1937 over £225 had been raised and spent by the association. The headmaster, Mr L. A. McKenzie, conveyed the thanks of himself and the staff for the help and the equipment made available by the association. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr H. J. B. Kent; immediate past president, Mr G. D. Hay; vice-presi-dent, Mrs H. Guyton; treasurer, Mr A. T. Jensen; secretary, Mr H. Riddle; committee—Mesdames Greig, Lamb, Riddle, Moore, Rush, Hadfield, Oliver, Newman, Messrs Hadfield, Oliver, Kirkland, Guyton, Rutherford, Robson. Supper was served and vocal items were given by Mrs Fred Haig, Mr L. A. McKenzie, and Mr G. Jones. The accompanists were Miss M Hobbs and Mrs G. Jones.
