REQUEST FOR TOOLS
ARMY EDUCATION SERVICE Under the Army Education Welfare Service the men and women in local military camps are being encouraged to use their spare time to the best advantage. It is one of the aims of the Dunedin Regional Committee to help with the supply of tools and materials which it is difficult for the army authorities to supply immediately, and the committee is, therefore, asking the support of any citizens who may be willing to help by giving certain articles which would be of use to the men. Carpenters’ tools are greatly needed, and any chisels, saws, planes, etc., and even vyces and work benches, would be much appreciated;,-.From one camp comes a request for gardening tools, rakes, spades, and hoes, while another is asking for the scores of semi-classical music for piano, violin and piano, and quartets. Anyone willing .to give any of these items may leave them at the Army Education Welfare Service office, 206 Princes street (opposite the Bank of New Zealand), or phone 18-809 to arrange fox their being collected.
