TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD
The Townswomen’s Guild held its first monthly meeting for the year, and the last in its financial year, on Tuesday, in First Church Hall. The president, Mrs R. S. Black, who was in the chair, reported that through the Community Aid Service which was being sponsored by the guild, steady progress was being made in supplying emergency help in homes. Owing to the fact that financial assistance had been given to this movement by the Government, the guild would be able to maintain its office, which was necessary for the organising of this important work. , , During the evening £2l was raised by a sale of work in aid of the Navy League. A delightful entertainment was given by Mrs John Hamer (recitations) and Miss Agnes Guy (vocal solos), accompanied by Mrs Rhodes.
