Sir,—l wish the Minister of Defence would make his statement about more generous leave being granted to soldiers more clear than it is. If it means that week-end leave will be given in between the two months’ furlough, to enable soldiers to visit their homes, it will be a much-needed (visit, or does it mean extra week-ends to wander round strange towns trying to kill time in accordance with the belief of the Minister of Defence and army authorities that this constitutes a wonderful break for our home-sick soldiers?
