Play-reading Circle.—One of the largest audiences which has attended a circle meeting this year assembled in the lounge of the Otago Women's Club on Tuesday night to see " The Watched Pot," a threeact play by Saki, produced by Mrs Ailsa Stephens. The play was in modern setting, and was presented in costume. The stage had been skilfully arranged by Mrs Stephens, who gave a resume of the second act, the first and third acts being read by the following cast:—Mesdames Cedric Benzoni, Wakefield Holmes, Elsie Stephens, W. Hartley, Ailsa Stephens, M. Anderson, W. Renrjie, W. McPhail, M. Arthur, M. Skipworth and Miss Betty Allan.
