SCOTTISH SOCIETY SOCIAL
The monthly social and dance of the Scottish Society of Dunedin was held on Saturday in the Victoria Hall, a large number of members and friends being present. The executive was piped to the platform by the official piper, Mr Harold Crawford. The president, Mr Eric MacKenzie, occupied the chair, and was assisted by the convener of the dramatic section, Mr W. Brown. A welcome was extended to Mr Griffen, of the Christchurch Scottish Society. Mr James Caldwell referred to a street day appeal to be held in the near future, and asked for lady helpers. Items were given by Miss M. Bachop (song), Mr W. Fyfe (song), Mr E. T. Hormann (piano-accordion), a pipe selection by Master Ardrie Stewart, and a clog waltz by Miss Jessie Brown. A vote of thanks was accorded the performers, and dancing was later enjoyed, the M.C. being Mr C. Beisiel.
