AIR RAID SHELTERS

LABOUR TO BE FOUND PROMISE BY MR SEMPLE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 5. An undertaking that he would find the labour required for the proposed air-raid tunnel under The Terrace, Wellington, was given by the Minister of National Service, Mr R. Semple, in an address at the Town Hall last night on E.P.S. organisation. The Mayor, Mr T. C. A. Hislop, said the plans were practically ready, and could be put into effect if the man-power and material were available. “ I will take the responsibility of getting the labour required for shelter jobs,” the Minister said. _ “It has to be secured both in this city and throughout the country to give the maximum protection from any air raids which may come this way. I will get that labour. Don’t you get any headaches over it,” he added, turning to Mr Hislop.
