PAYMENT FOR BUTTER-FAT FULL VALUE FOR SUPPLIERS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 5. The main purpose of the amendment to the Dairy Produce Regulations, 1938, which was gazetted tonight, is to ensure that so far as possible suppliers to dairy factories are credited with and paid for all butterfat contained in supplies delivered by them for the manufacture of dairy produce. The provisions of the amendment are as follows: — (a) The weight of milk must be recorded at the nearest pound to its exact weight. (b) The weight of cream must be recorded at the nearest half-pound to its exact weight, and where the weight is an exact number of quarter pounds it must be recorded in favour of the supplier at the next quarter pound above its exact weight. (c) Where the butterfat test for milk as read from the test bottle is an exact half of 0.1 per cent, it must be recorded in favour of the supplier at the next 0.1 per cent, above the actual reading. (d) Where the butterfat test for cream as read from the test bottle is an exact half of 1 per cent, it must be recorded in favour of the supplier at the next 1 per cent, ab.ove the actual reading.
