WAITAHUNA
Forced Landing.—On Wednesday afternoon a training plane from a southern air station, after circling at a low height over Waitahuna, landed in a hayfield. Owing to the mist and a drizzling rain the pilot apparently lost his way. No damage was done to the machine, and the pilot was not injured. A flying officer arrived from the station and the machine later continued its journey. Personal.—Mrs George Murphy (nee Rita Walker) has passed her final nursing examination. —On Tuesday evening the local Hockey Club held a surprise party at the home of Miss Gwen Small to mark her twenty-first birthday. The president, Mrs Labes, presented a gift to Miss Small on behalf of the members.
