ARMED FORCES BOARD

APPEALS AGAINST SERVICE SITTING AT BALCLUTHA The Alined Forces Appeal BoardMessrs J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., J. Price and H Hodgson—commenced a sitting at BaJclutha on Wednesday. Mr A. N. Norman Earle McKay (Norman McKay and the Primary Production Council), a farmhand, of Clvdevale, to continue serving with the Home Guard at Clydevale. On review the cases of Thomas Henry Scott (Euphemia Scott), a dairy farm hand, of Stirling, and Llewellyn Ledingham Christie (Primary Production Council), a farmer, of Warepa, were further adjourned. The following reservists were transferred to the territorials: —James Milne, jun. (James Milne), a farmhand, of Inch Clutha; George Dovey, jun. (George Dovey), a farmer, of Te Houka; Alexander Frank Plew (Primary Production Council), a threshing mill proprietor, of Balclutha; John Roxburgh and Ernest Furly Rawson (South Otago Freezing Company, Ltd.), solo slaughtermen. The following cases were i-eviewed and further adjourned sine die with territorial services:—Kenneth James Mcintosh, a farmer, of Kakapuaka; Alan George Maze (Gordon Sangster Maze), a farm hand, of Kakapuaka; Roland McPhedran Whittaker (Charles Whittaker), a farmer, of Springbank; Herbert Stuart Scott (Euphemia Scott and the Primary Production Council), a dairy farmer, of Stirling; Andrew Kerr Stewart Paisley (Director of National Service), of Clydevale, a farm hand. The following appeals were dismissed: Andrew John King, a wool sorter employed by the South Otago Freezing Company (Director of National Service), the reservist not to be called before June 30, 1942; Robert Henry Hawker (Director of National Service), cheesemaker, Stirling, dairy factory, the reservist not to be called before April 30, 1942.
