SPHERE OF INFLUENCE
ABSURD JAPANESE CLAIM AUSTRALIA AND SIBERIA • LONDON, Jan. 29. Commenting on the Japanese claim to have established a sphere of influence over Australia and Eastern Siberia, Russian newspapers characterised the claim as a ridiculous one. The papers warn the Japanese that they should know that a successful beginning does not always mean a successful enciing, and that he laughs loudest who laughs last.
