THE BARHAM LOST
BRITISH BATTLESHIP SUNK IN NOVEMBER i LONDON, Jan. 28. The Admiralty has announced the loss of H.M.S. Barham. She was sunk in November last and the next-of-kin informed, but the news was not made public because of certain naval dispositions and because the enemy did noi know the ship was sunk. About 300 members of the crew were saved. The Barham was a battleship of the Queen Elizabeth class, completed in 1914. She was of 31.100 tons, and was armed with eight 15-inch guns and 12 six-inch guns, besides anti-aircraft and smaller guns.
