RAPID EXPANSION (Rec. 8 p.m.) RUGBY. Jan. 26. Fifty thousand men are volunteering every month for the Indian land, sea, and air forces, while an army of more than 1.000,000 is trained and equipped ready to defend India should she be attacked, said Mr Dewan Bahadur Runganadhan, of the India Office. The Indian Air Force is being rapidly expanded, and units of the Royal Indian Navy, manned by Indians as well as European officers and Indian ratings, are co-operating in the Battle of the Atlantic and carrying out various duties in the Indian Ocean.
