SUNSHINE FOR YEAR
FIRST PLACE TO NAPIER (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. Napier leads the list in the hours of bright sunshine recorded last year, states a return compiled by the Meteorological Office. The first eight centres In a list of 37 are: Napier 2492 hours, Blenheim 2477.8, Nelson 2390.8, Gisborne 2297.2, Lake Tekapo 2282.2, Auckland 2267.9, Tauranga 2258, Masterton 2220.2, New Plymouth 2201.3. Of the other larger centres Timaru is twelfth on the list with 2143.7, Wanganui thirteenth with 2125.6, Rotorua seventeenth with 2028.3, Christchurch eighteenth with 2026.2, Wellington twenty-ninth with 1900.5, Palmerston North thirty-third with 1689.8, Invercargill thirty-fifth with 1664.3, and Dunedin thirty-seventh with 1648,4.
