ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
AIRCRAFTMAN INJURED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 16. An aircraftman ,of the Douglas Lionel Forward, was dangerously injured at the R.N.Z.A.F. station at Levin last night, when he was run over by a fire tender at the flare path. He was later admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital. His father is Mr F. L. Forward, of Ormondville. LEVEL CROSSING ACCIDENT (PA.) WANGANUI, Dec. 16. A taxi-driver, Mr C. H. Fraser, and Mr I. Coutt, a member of the Patea Hospital staff, were both seriously injured when the former's car was struck by a train on a level crossing in Wanganui to-day. Mr Fraser suffered severe chest injuries and Mr Coutt received injuries to both arms and the left leg. Both men are reported to be in a serious condition. The car was extensively damaged, most of the windows being cracked, the hood caving in and the front left-hand side door being torn off.
