GREATER EFFORT
AUSTRALIA'S PART MANY CHANGES FORECAST GREATER RELIANCE ON WOMEN (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 15. "Great changes in the Australians' way of living will soon be introduced to marshal the nation for a full war effort," said the Minister for the Army, Mr P. C. Spender. "Mr Menzies will announce in a world broadcast on Tuesday what steps must be taken. R will mean changes in our occupations, changes in . industry; in fact, vast changes in most things that have governed our peace-time existence. "We have to forget everything except service to our country and we will be compelled to rely more and more upon women. 'Too frequently men in Australia are engaged on work that women can do and must do. Australia needs above all else a definite programme which will swing behind the war every man, very machine and every ounce ot effort we possess. That is now to be made a living fact. We started this war a long way behind and we have a long way to go before we can boast of that parity of strength which will enable us to take the offensive."
