PRIZE OF £2OOO
WINNER OF ART UNION A TYPIST'S GOOD FORTUNE ■The winning ticket in the "Lucky Feeling" Art Union was held by Miss Dorothea McDowall, of Bathgate road, South Dunedin. Miss McDowall is employed as a typist at the New Zealand -Wax Vesta factory in David street, Caversham. Her mother purchased the ticket from an aged seller in Queen street, Auckland, on May 6, and the seller volunteered the information that he had sold many prize-winning tickets in the previous art ~ union. Mrs McDowall, who has always looked upon Auckland as a " happy hunting ground " for lucky tickets," carried out an old promise to herself when she purchased the ticket for her daughter. The pseudonym on the ticket should actually have been "Pussy" (not " Bussy "), by which nick-name Miss McDowall has long been known to her friends. . A remarkable feature of Miss McDowall's good fortune is that winning tickets in art unions have been held by Bathgate road residents twice in four years. On the previous occasion the next-door neighbour of Mrs McDowall won £2OOO.
