STATE MINES
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ON STRIKES QUESTION OF SINGLE MEN ENGAGED (Special) WELLINGTON, June 12. A return showing the number of strikes in State mines since conscription was introduced in New Zealand is sought by Mr D. C. Kidd (Opposition, Waitaki) in a question of which he gave notice in the House of Representatives to-day. Three other returns relating to State miners which Mr Kidd will ask for are the cause of such strikes, the number of single men of military age who have been engaged in the State mines since conscription was introduced, and the number of those men called up for military service who have been granted exemption either on their own application dr on the application of the management.
