VICE-REGAL INSPECTION VISIT TO NEW HEADQUARTERS Three officers and 42 ratings of the Dunedin branch of the Navy League Sea Cadets formed a guard-of-honour for the Governor-General (Viscount Galway) when he paid a visit to the new headquarters in the old Post Office building last evening. Assembled in Dowling street in full dress .uniform, the officers and ratings were inspected by his Excellency, who paid a tribute to their smart appearance and bearMet by the commander (Mr J. Sutherland Ross). Lord Galway was conducted on a tour of inspection , of the Sea Cadet headquarters, during which he remarked upon the excellent facilities available for training. He then addressed briefly the guard-of-honour. drawn up to the left of the parade area, and the non-unifonned cadets to the right. “ This is a most important work you are doing,” Lord Galway said. “It is also an important branch of training. It is splendid to hear of the excellent work you are doing, and I am delighted with your showing.” Lord Galway paid tribute to the enthusiasm shown by all ranks, and eulogised the efficiency of the officers in instructing the cadet corps. Finally, he wished them luck in future training.

Although the Sea Cadets were doing a national work they had not been recognised by the Government, said Mr Ross in replv to the good wishes of the Governor-General Already some of the ratings had gone into service with the naw. he added.
