DEFENCE RIFLE SHOOTING

KAITANGATA CLUB The Kaltangata Defence Rifle Club fired the second stage of the Lee Cup (first competition) on Saturday, the conditions being seven counting shots and one optional slghter each at 300 and 600 yards. Conditions were not favourable for good shooting, a strong gusty wind blowing from the front. The highest scores at 300 yards were obtained by R. Arbuthnott 33, R. McCrostie 32. C. Falconer 32 and A. Richardson 32, and at 600 yards R. McCrostie 34, R. Arbuthnott 32 and T. Cairns 31. The day’s aggregate was headed by R. McCrostie, with 66 off the rifle. The following were the scores:—
