BOXING
RAYNER OUTPOINTS JARVIS
(Per United Press Association) BELENHEIM, Aug. 13.
Clarrie Rayner (9st 8£lb), of Blenheim, decisively outpointed Jack Jarvis (9st 61b). of Eltham, in a 12-round nontitle professional boxing contest before a big house last night. As it was their sixth meeting, the bout was not always snectacular. but there was plenty of action to please the crowd and Jarvis left Ravner to do the leading, and relied on counter-ounching. The Blenheim man was always aggressive, and won six rounds, and Jarvis won three. Borocovsky Beats Roderick
An eight-round supporting professional match saw Val Borcovsky (9st 61b), of Murchison, win on points from C. Roderick -(9st 41b), of Blenheim. The loser, who has had experience of the Australian ring, boxed cleverly, but in a bright, vigorous bout Borcovsky's aggression gained him the verdict.
