AUSTRALIAN SOCIETY
SOCIAL EVENING The Strand Salon was the scene of a bright gathering on Saturday evening when the Australian Society held its monthly social. Mr and Mrs A. A. Paape were the host and hostess, and Mr A. Holloway acted as M.C. for the games and dancing, Mrs C. Clayton providing the music. Mrs J. Cunningham and Mr H. Leith were the winners of a “ Monte Carlo ” waltzing competition. Between the dances vocal numbers were rendered by Miss Agnes Guy, songs and tap dances by the Misses Moody, and an elocutionary number by Mr Dennis Brickell. Miss E. Rosevere was the accompanist. During the supper interval Mr A. A Paape extended a welcome to several visitors, including the president of the Auckland Club. Afterwards Mr Dennis Brickie conducted an enjoyable community sing.
