OTAGO CLUB The first round of a four-ball handicap knock-out competition was played on the Balmacewen course on Saturday, the results being as follows: D. M. Irvine and I. Carr beat J. G. Dick and E. G. Boddy 1 up, J. C. Shand and J. W. Smeaton beat J. R. Paterson and I. S. Cantrell 1 up. All the other competitors had byes into the second round. ST. CLAIR CLUB In the semi-finals of the four-ball knockout competition Jefferson and Strang beat McGhie and Rackley 4 and 2, and Anderson and Templeton defeated Drake and Penman 2 and 1. The final of this event was won by Jefferson and Strang, who beat Anderson and Templeton 3 and 2. The pair’s bogey match resulted In a draw between Rhodes and Dobbie and E.
