NUNNELEY CASKET MATCH CANTERBURY IN THE LEAD (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 9. .In an interprovincial lawn tennis match for the Nunneley Casket, Can-, terbury gained a lead on the first' day of five rubbers to one over the challenger, Wellington'. The match ' was played in hot. sunny weather, but a violent north-west gale made playing conditions very difficult. Wellington’s only success was gained by Miss Douthett against Miss I.
