DOMINION BANK NOTES
♦ AT DISCOUNT IN SYDNEY TWENTY-FIVE PER CENT. SYDNEY, Dec. 23. A number of instances where New Zealanders, who have come to Sydney, have sacrificed New Zealand notes at a discount of 25 per cent., have been reported to the Trade Commissioner (Mr Taylor). One man who arrived by the Awatea yesterday accepted £BO in Australian notes in exchange for £IOO in New Zealand money. "I know it is robbery," said the man, " but I either had to do that or remain ' broke' over the holidays."
