The British United Press Association's Berlin correspondent says: Twenty thousand Jews who were arrested during the pogroms have been released from the concentration camps. Asked in the House of Commons if the Government had prepared p' .ns for the settlement of refugees in Tanganyika, Mr Malcolm MacDonald stated that the Government of Tanganyika had ordered surveys to be carried out in the areas which offered the best possibility of settlement. He was awaiting the result of those surveys. He added that it would necessarily be some time before the reports were received, but as soon as they were available the voluntary refugee organisation would be invited to send representatives to inspect any area which the Governor might suggest for examination.
