RELEASED FROM CAMP TOTAL OF TWENTY THOUSAND ORDERED TO EMIGRATE (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, Dec. 22. The British United Press Association's Berlin correspondent says: Twenty thousand Jews who were arrested during the pogroms have been released from the concentration camps. They were refused visas, though they were ordered to emigrate within 10 days. It is estimated that 146 died in seven months. Thousands were herded like cattle under indescribable conditions. They were forced to sleep in frozen clothes without blankts or straw. A message from Amsterdam states that 100 law faculties throughout the world, including Australian, Canadian, and South African, publicly protested against the treatment of German Jews. A message from Warsaw states that, coincident with the flaring up of the anti-Jewish campaign, the National Unity Camp, which dominates the new Parliament, has drawn up a motion for Parliament demanding mass emigration of Jews. HOME FOR REFUGEES PROSPECTS IN TANGANYIKA (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Dec. 22. Asked in the House of Commons if the Government had prepared p' .ns for the settlement of refugees in Tanganyika, Mr Malcolm MacDonald stated that the Government of Tanganyika had ordered surveys to be carried out in the areas which offered the best possibility of settlement. He was awaiting the result of those surveys. He added that it would necessarily be some time before the reports were received, but as soon as they were available the voluntary refugee organisation would be invited to send representatives to inspect any area which the Governor might suggest for examination. JEWS IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA PROFESSORS SUSPENDED PRAGUE, Dec. 22. Thirty Jewish professors and teachers in the German technical schools and the university have been suspended indefinitely.
