REGARDED AS VOID

FRANCO-ITALIAN AGREEMENT NOTIFICATION FROM ROME LONDON, Dec. 22. The Daily Telegraph's Paris correspondent says it is understood that Italy informed France on December 17 that the Franco-Italian 1935 agreement determining the FrancoItalian frontier in Eritrea and Libya, and the status of Italian nationals in Tunis, must ,be regarded as void since it was never ratified. It is believed that Italy suggested that France should now submit fresh proposals complying with the London treaty of 1915, which brought Italy into the war, and under which Britain and France agreed that if they increased their colonial territory in Africa at Germany's expense Itaiy mi"ht claim compensation in Eritrea. Somaliland. and Libya. It is officially stated that Italy sent a Note to M. Poncet advising that it no longer considered the Laval-Mussolini agreements valid.
