CROMWELL ELECTIONS
PETITIONS FOR INQUIRY ; ~ r, (Special to Daily Times) > CROMWELL, June 8.; The signatories to the petition* wl\ich have been lodged for an inquiry into the elections at Cron>well for the mayoralty and representatives on the Central Otago Power Board are Charles William Joseph Roberts (a defeated candidate for both the mayoralty and th® Power Board), Mary Robert®, Charles Walter Joseph Roberta, Mavis Mary Roberts, Stanley Otto Poulsen, and Gladys Elizabeth Poulsen.
The petitions allege irregularities in the conduct of the polls and ask that Charles William Joseph Roberts be declared elected or, in the alternative, that the poll be declared void. The hearing has been tentatively, fixed for June 13. At the election for the mayoralty held last month Mr J. C. Parcell defeated BSr Roberts by 235 votes to 185.
