BRITISH VESSEL ATTACKED BOMBED BY REBEL PLANES TWO OF CREW WOUNDED (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) BARCELONA, May 13. (Received May 13, at 11.30 p.m.) Rebels’ bombs damaged the British ship African Mariner and wounded a seaman. William Tregear, and a galley boy. .-Rebel air raids killed 46 and wounded 48. One hundred bombs were dropped on Valencia, killing 22 and wounding 80. BRITISH VESSEL STOPPED ALLEGEDLY CARRYING ARMS LONDON, May 13. (Received May 13, at 11 p.m.) The Gibraltar correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says that as the result of information from the Nonintervention Boapd the British destroyer Hyperion stopped the London steamer Stancroft on the high seas between Barcelona and Valencia and escorted her to Gibraltar, where her cargo is being examined to-day. The Stancroft is alleged to be carrying arms to Spain. REBEL GOVERNMENT RECOGNITION BY PORTUGAL LISBON, May 12. Portuguese official recognition of the Franco Government as the Government of Spain has been conveyed to Salamanca.
