SENTENCE INCREASED
FORGER TO SERVE FIVE YEARS THREE FURTHER CHARGES (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 26. Sentenced in Wellington to four vears' imprisonment with hard labour for forging £5 bank notes, Charles Alfred Remmerf, aged 49, a carpenter, had another year added to the original sentence by Mr Justice Fair in the Supreme Court this morning when he appeared on three charges of uttering forged notes and one of attempting to utter a note. He will now serve a total of five years on forgery and uttering charges. His Honor said there seemed to have been-no necessity for the prisoner to commit the offences. He had been in constant work as a carpenter, but he appeared to prefer a different type of life.
