AMATEUR ATHLETICS
CENTRE'S OPENING MEETING Despite the heavy'rain early in the day, conditions were comparatively good for the opening sports meeting of the season conducted by the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association at the Caledonian Ground last evening. The seven events were.fairly well supported, and some interesting races were witnessed- Features of the meeting were the women s and primary schoolboys' races, which received good support, and promise to be big attractions at future meetings this summer. The following are the results:— 100 YARDS OPEN HANDICAP It. G. Pilling (University), 7Jyds .. 1 N. Hall (Dunedin), 10yds .. .. 2 H. J.
