WELCOME RAIN
AUCKLAND PROVINCE SATURATED ABUNDANT FEED ASSURED (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, Oct. 25. Incessant rain at the weejc-end. which meant disappointment for thousands of holiday-makers, was welcomed by farmers in all parts of the province ia a realisation that the abundant moisture would assure the success of the dairy season. The pastures, which had been retarded by an unusually long, dry spell from the end of September onwards, are expected to come away rapidly, and fears that feed would become scarce have been allayed. The rain will enable the dairy farmers to maintain their butter-fat production and at the same time will reassure fat stock graziers who were becoming alarmed at the possibility of a shortage of feed.
