FLYING-OFFICER LLEWELLYN DEPARTURE FROM CAPETOWN CAPETOWN. May 30. Flying-officer Llewellyn again started for London at 4.4 a.m. A FORCED LANDING MACHINE BADLY DAMAGED BULAWAYO, May 31. (Received May 31, at 10 p.m.) Flying-officer Llewellyn made a forced landing at Serowe. The machine struck an ant heap and was badly damaged. Flying-officer Llewellyn was jammed in the seat but was extricated by natives. MRS EARHART’S TEST FLIGHT MIAMI, May 31. (Received May 31, at 11 p.m.) Mrs Earharl carried out a test flight, which revealed the necessity for adjustments to the radio and the gyro pilot. She announced that she would take off on Tuesday at the earliest.
