RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION
ROSLYN AND KAIKORAI At the monthly meeting of the Roslyn and Kaikorai Ratepayers' Association a good attendance of members was presided over by Mr W. J. Bell. A letter was received from the Education Board, stating that the department and the City Council had not yet agreed as to the purchase of property for widening portion of Highgate. Members expressed concern at the danger present when buses crossed at an intersection of Leven street, and urged that the City Council should again use the old tramway track and Scarba street for the bus service. It was decided to draw the council's attention to the need of a light between Leven street and the tram junction, to the kerbing of Taieri road footpath between Tyne and Walton streets, and the neglected crossings at Delta and Gamma streets. It was decided to send a letter to the Automobile Association, pointing out the need of having Kaikorai Valley road declared a main highway.
