10 THE EDITOR Sir, —It seems that the German demand for colonies will be submitted to the world directly. In the meantime the nations will be doing some solid thinking. Along what lines will this run? What has been happening and what is happening in Germany will be under review. If Germany fails to treat decently a few Jews and others who happen to be in that country, what hope would there be for the native races in the parts formerly held by Germany? Before and since war time no German signature has been worth the paper on which it has been written. As soon as Germany voluntarily disarms to police status there will be a basis on which to consider such matters. Till then, if we may judge by what ha/; occurred, her promises are only made to be broken.
