POLAND’S ARMAMENTS
PARLIAMENT APPROVES LOAN WARSAW. Jan. 5. (Received Jan. 6, at 11.15 p.m.) The Diet voted £ 15,000,000 for armaments and fortifications Colonel Beck reaffirmed Franco-Polish friendship. "Everybody rejoices at each new rifle placed in the hands of our soldiers,’’ he said, when Parliament approved the £13,000,000 loan from France, of which a smtell portion will be devoted to paying French creditors. Four-fifths of the balance will be used to purchase arms from France, and one-fifth used in equipping armament plants in Poland Colonel Beck argued that it was essential for a country desiring peace to have the force necessary to ensure respect.
