COMMUNITY SINGING
The 1936 community singing season is drawing to a close, there being only three more for the Mayor's Relief of Distress Fund, and one for the Mayoress's Christmas Cheer Fund. The grand final night will be Monday, November 9. The Irish Day takes place on Friday, October 16, and no doubt this will be as successful as the Scotch day last week. Mr H. P. De§moulins, the leader, is arranging another good programme for this week's sing, which will be held in the Strand Theatre (by courtesy of Fuller-Hay ward). Listeners-in have shown their appreciation this year by sending in donations, which have been very good, with the result that £3OO has already been handed to the Mayor's Fund, and the fourth hundred is in sight. Donations can be sent to Begg's or the Strand Theatre. Mrs M'lntyre will be pleased to receive flowers for the stall. Proceeds are for the Mayor's Relief of Distress Fund.
