THE BOXING ASSOCIATION
ro TUE EDllim Sib, —I see that the Otago Boxing Association is looking forward to a busy and successful season. Xo doubt the boxing supporters should witness a good contest between Stirling and Pluto because the latter is one of the cleverest welters ever here, and after the showing Stirling made against him in Oamaru last month thia match should draw a good house. But it is a bit of a farce to match Hughes with Stirling. Sportsmen do not
want to see men who have not had a fight for years, and then only poor ones at that. If the Match Committee wishes to dig up a few more old-timers what about "Artie" Hay, Paul M'Quarrie, "Tommy" Donovan, etc.? I think that the contest, for June 20 will result in another loss to the Otago Boxing Association. I am speaking from experience —I am, etc., A MEMBER. Dunedin. June 11.
