WORLD’S PEACE CRUSADE

m niK KiirroH Sir, —Men are sighing for peace as they have never done before, but God cannot make peace. He cannot force peace upon us, as there is no such thing as forcing peace. Only the power of love can bring peace. Power to dominate others is really a great weakness. A dominant person can force men to do a thing, but cannot get their wills. Force is only external: it does not touch the inner man. Persuasion, leading, love are the only strength' and power. When we look abroad into the world and see what a place it is, see how full it is of jangling and selfishness, of violence, of passion, and blood, the Fatherhood of God and brotherhood of mgn unacknowledged, and men everywhere at strife, the seething unrest that envelope the nations, the evergrowing perplexity of the world’s wisest statesmen, the economic distress that seems now common to all nations without distinction of race or politico; above all, the growing tide of apostasy and godlessncos. sweeping oyer the Christian world, the fixed determination to settle earth's problems apart from God, which is such a menacing feature of present-day life — it is proclaimed that the grapes of “ the vine of the earth ” are rapidly ripening to their awful fruition, which will give the signal for Divine intervention to save the earth from utter corruption.—l am, etc., J.
