ENTOMBED FOR NINE HOURS Three miners were released reeently after being entombed for nine hours with a pony in a space of Oft by 10ft in Kimblcswortb Colliery, County Durham. They were George Owens, aged .‘l4, of Sacriston; Charles Terry, aged .‘l2. of Rainton; and James Teah, 18, of Plawsworth Gate. Teah saw cracks in the roof. He ran to warn the others. Immediately afterwards hundreds of tons of coal and stone fell behind him and they were all' trapped. Rescuers cut a hole one foot square through this mass. The men were drawn to safety through this opening. Teah’s first thought was for his pony, which was fed through the hole and later liberated. The fathers of both Owens and Teah were killed in the same mine some years ago. I
