TRACK WORK AT RICCARTON

(Special to Daily Times) CHRISTCHURCH, March 5.. The weather was fine for work at Riccarton this morning. The outside of the course proper provided good going, though a trifle dead. Horses engaged at Motukarara provided the chief interest, but there were no outstanding performances from the time point of view. Wild Chase did half a mile easily in Fracas took lmin Slsec for aeven furlongs, Sky Pilot beating Hororata in lmin 34sec. . Variant and Roaming ran six furlongs in lmin 19 2-ssec, and Saucy Sally did a short sprint along the back. Impersonator bea_t Owl's Nest over half a mile in 51 2-ssec. Royal Gallant and Princess Rawene ran six furlongs in lmin 19 3-ssec, a performance which Dark Rose and Pennywise equalled, Bereft and Silver Jest also registering similar time. Impossible sprinted half a mile up the back in 51 - l-ssec, Moonbeam taking 53sec, going easily. . .Crash and Pahu registered lmin 35sec for seven furlongs, Tout le Monde and Horotiu following in lmin 34 2-ssec.
