BALCLUTHA Cricket Clutha A defeated Milton on Saturday at Balclutha by 84 runs to 62. F. Marryatt (25), Olver (11), and Sloan (11) reached double figures for Milton. Bowling, Guest took five for 86, Henderson four for 23, and Swinton one for none. Henderson (41) topped the score for the winners, Dryden (2) and Guest (10) being next best. Bowling, T. Wills took five for 14. Waiwera and Waihola met at Milton, the final scores being Waihola 100, Waiwera 90. For Waiwera Li. Dunn made 32, Nicol 17, Neale 16, M'Kenzie 11. Kane took six wickets for 29 runs, W. Sinclair one for 51, and Hood, sen., three for five. For- Waihola Wallace (22), Kane (18), Reid (18), W. Sinclair (13), and Hood (10) reached double figures. L. Dunn took five wickete for 38, Nicol one for 24, Neale two for 21, and H. Dunn two for three. On the High School Ground the game between Clutha B and the School ended in a draw. Clutha B compiled 184 runs, and School made 174 for six wickets. Kaitangata B defeated Benhar by 167 to 27. Town Development A company has been formed, with a local directorate, for the purpose of erecting a modern private hotel. The building and site of the Federal, formerly known as the Coffee Palace, has been purchased, and the intention is to pull down the present wooden building and erect a brick one-storey building. The hotel is to be fitted with every modern convenience, and will have in front three shops for letting purposes.
