ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
CAR OUT OF CONTROL WOMAN FATALLY INJURED, v (Per United* Press Association) GISBORNE, November 30. A Maori, Martin Moni, aged 50, married, with eight children, was killed near Matawai this morning when a car in which he was a passenger became out of control and struck a stump and capsized. Hie son, Toki Mdhi, suffered a fractured skull. The deceased was a member of a party of five Opotiki Maoris who were motoring to Gisborne. When near Matawai the accelerator jammed and the driver, Jacob Ngatai, was unable to control the car. FALL FROM A TREE BOY SERIOUSLY INJURED. (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, December 1. Climbing a tree in North Hagley Park early this afternoon to recover a toy aeroplane -which had become entangled in the branches, David Denley. aged 14 years, of Hewitt’s road, Merivale, lost, hig hold and slipped. He fell 20 feet to the ground, landing heavily on his feel, and was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital with a fractured spine. His condition is reported to be serious. DEATH FROM INJURIES (Per United Press Associati6n) INVERCARGILL, November 30. The motor cyclist,- Henry Grell, aged 21, who collided with a motor lorry near Ryal Bush yesterday afternoon, died this morning. . ,
