Wednesday, October 30. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Charged with drunkenness, Alfred Judcl was fined 10s in default 24 hours' imprisonment.—Aliee Twist, who appeared on remand on a similar charge, was convicted and ordered to pay medical expenses (£2 l(is) in default seven days' imprisonment, the magistrate remarking that if she appeared before the court again more drastic steps would be taken. PRINTERS CHARGED. Leonard Haywood and Reginald Gladstone Watson were charged with having printed a document purporting to bo a programme of the Dunedin Jockey Club's spring meeting without having received the necessary authorisation from the club. —On the application of Mr W. H. Carson, who appeared for Watson, an adjournment until November 13 was granted. ALLEGED RECEIVING. Mcrvyn Ernest Arnold Welsh, for whom Mr C. A. Hamcr appeared, was charged with having, at Fairfield, received from Frederick Loades, Leslie Kedzlie and Maurice James Hurring, goods valued at £42 ss, the property of Guy Winchester Knight, well knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained. — Applying for a remand, Chief Detective Young said that the charge arose out of a burglary at Waikouaiti. There was no suggestion that the accused had taken an active part in it, but it was alleged that he had allowed the stolen goods to be kept on his premises for at least a day. —An application for suppression of the name was refused, and the accused was remanded for a week, bail being allowed in his own recognisance of £25 and one surety of a like amount.
