COMMUNITY SING
To-morrow will be the last sing to be held in the Strand Theatre. The whole of the proceeds are for the Mayoress's Children Christmas Cheer Fund, and it is hoped that listeners-in and those attending will give freely, as every shilling given will make some child happy at Christmas time. Several firms' staffs have been good enough to take up collections and send to the fund, and it is hoped that others will follow this example. A novelty item will be given by Mrs K. Smith—this will bo a whistling solo —and it should prove an attraction. Big Brother BHI will be the leader, and he is arranging a good programme. Mr Alf Pettitt will be at the piano. The final big sirr will be held on the evening of November 12 in the Town Hall, and Messrs H. P. Dcsmoulins and J. F. Himburg will be the leaders. Donations may bo sent to Begg's or the Strand Theatre
