ALLOWANCES FOR CHILDREN AN INCREASE ANNOUNCED LONDON, October 25. (Received Oct. 2G, at 0.15 a.m.) The House of Commons passed a resolution increasing the benefit in respect to children of unemployed from 2s to 3s, which some Labour members described as an election bribe, but which Sir John Simon said was justified by the improvement in the stability of the Unemployment Fund.
